Pediatrician Patricia Wolff has been volunteering in Haiti for over 29 years. In the first 15 of those years she treated sick malnourished children with medication. In 2003, after visiting with Pediatrician Mark Manary in Malawi she founded Meds & Food for KIds (MFK) and began to make the Ready To Use Therapeutic Food which Mark developed in collaboration with Dr. Andre Briend of France in Haiti with a hand grinder in Haiti. Since then the machinery has been upgraded many times. MFK has moved 6 times and treated over 300,000 children. MFK now produces 3 nutritious products in Haiti and has exported to 13 countries via UNICEF. MFK is investing $2.5M in upgraded machinery and renovations in order to now produce products for prevention of malnutrition in the all important first 1000 Days.
