Cahokia Mounds, an Illinois State Historic site and UNESCO World Heritage site. has achieved a level of significance important in our understanding of the beginnings of cities in eastern North America prior to Europeans.  This presentation will focus on the ongoing research that has been examining the evidence and processes leading to this important event in human history.
